Michael Armitage, executive director of Calhoun County Consolidated Dispatch Authority, has been named the 2025 Public Safety Communications Center Director of the Year by the Michigan Chapter of the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials, according to a community announcement.
The award was presented Oct. 23 at the 81st annual Michigan APCO meeting in Frankenmuth. The statewide honor recognizes outstanding leadership and innovation in public safety communications.
Armitage has led Calhoun County’s consolidated 911 center since 2021, overseeing a team of more than 30 professionals who handle over 185,000 calls annually. CCCDA dispatches services for 10 law enforcement agencies, 20 fire departments and three EMS providers.
