GROVETOWN, Ga. (WJBF)- WJBF is excited to host "Halloween with a Heart", an event that gives special needs students the space to trick or treat and enjoy Halloween at the Columbia County Exhibition Center.
For more than 25 years "Halloween with a Heart" has seen continuous growth.
There are now over 1600 students in attendance across 105 programs in the CSRA.
The event values students by being mindful of the treats that are handed out, the entryways, and costumes that are worn.
"We are there to make the kids feel seen and heard and valued and just like they get to be a regular kid and they are. And that's the most important thing. And it's exciting to see the parents come in and just get to be a parent for the day," said Taylor Newton, WJBF's Director of Community Involvement.
