BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - The federal government shutdown is stretching on and with that comes federal workers not receiving paychecks , as well as the suspension of SNAP benefits for November, which was announced on Monday, Oct. 28 .

WBRC has gathered a list of some local food banks, restaurants, food trucks and more that can help you access an important essential, food.

Community Food Bank of Central Alabama

The Community Food Bank of Central Alabama is located at 107 Walter Davis Drive in Birmingham.

The food bank is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The food bank covers Blount, Calhoun, Cherokee, Clay, Cleburne, Etowah, Jefferson, Shelby, St. Clair, Talladega, Walker and Winston counties.
