WASHINGTON — It may be their first Halloween , but these NICU babies are already winning best costume.
Hospitals across the country are helping their tiniest patients get into the spooky spirit, dressing up newborns in the neonatal intensive care unit in miniature costumes for the holiday.
The annual tradition brings joy to families and hospital staff, during an otherwise stressful time.
Here’s a look at how some hospitals across the U.S. are dressing up their NICU babies for Halloween:
Several babies in the neonatal intensive care unit at Jacobs Medical Center at UC San Diego Health transformed into Batman and Robin, Disney Princesses and the Gladiator.
The Sutter Health Child Life team held a costume-making workshop for families of babies in the neonatal intensive care unit.
