CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Investigators tracked down the source of a bomb threat at the Gaston County Courthouse earlier this month and have arrested the suspect.

Darone Boone, 28, is accused of calling in two bomb threats to the courthouse on Tuesday, Oct. 14. He faces charges of false bomb report, obstruction of justice, and terrorism - weapon of mass destruction offense.

The threats were called in just after 12 p.m. The Gastonia Police Department's bomb team determined there was no threat around 3 p.m.

Investigation teams identified the source of the call and determined that the phone that made the call was located in Los Angeles, California.

The FBI's Los Angeles Field Office helped locate Boone and arrest him.
