THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WCTV) - As Hurricane Melissa cleanup continues in Jamaica, family members in the Big Bend and South Georgia are growing increasingly concerned about loved ones on the island.
Kenrick Francis and his wife own Jamerican Eats in Thomasville. His mother and brother live on the west side of Jamaica.
He was on a video call with his mother during the storm and watched parts of her roof fly off. Now, he’s lost communication.
He said he’s leaning on faith, family and friends until he can connect with them.
“I hope somebody gives me a call right now and says they’re okay, because I am really, really worried about my mom and my brother right now. I am working, but my mind isn’t here; it is trying to be in Jamaica to see who I can call, who I can get to tell me what is going on.
