DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) -- A man from Pansey was arrested this week after investigators claimed he pretended to be a trooper with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency in an attempt to meet with the governor.
According to public court records, 52-year-old Jason Leverette walked into a loan agency in Dothan on Tuesday and told workers that he was a "colonel with state troopers" and claimed he was working undercover.
Documents show that Leverette also said he needed a ride to Montgomery to meet with Governor Kay Ivey.
Leverette was arrested and charged with one count of impersonating a peace officer.
He was booked into the Houston County Jail on a $15,000 bond.
