TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Garnet and gold are flooding the streets of the capital city as Florida State University celebrates its homecoming week.

Thursday kicked off the university’s homecoming festival, with students, parents, friends and alumni gathering at the Student Union repping their Seminole gear and school spirit.

Ellie Holton, the homecoming festival chair, said the event featured music, good food and plenty of tradition.

“This week we have all kinds of different events, but this is the festival, so we have the ride, we have a petting zoo, face painting, free food, merch, face painting, all of it is free to every Florida State University student and staff member and community members can check in as well,” Holton said.
