MANDAN, ND (KXNET) — If your family’s looking for something to do this Halloween, the Morton County Sheriff’s Office has a haunted house experience.
On Friday night, deputies are turning the Morton County Courthouse into a full-on haunted house. It’s called Morton’s Most Haunted: The Trial of Elias Voss — a first-of-its-kind event where local law enforcement transforms the courthouse into a spooky story brought to life.
The tale is fictional, but it sounds like a legend.
Back in 1941, a courthouse trial suddenly stopped before the verdict could be read. By morning, both the accused man and the court records had vanished. Now, more than 80 years later, that “trial” continues through eerie hallways, jump scares, and a dramatic courtroom scene.
