DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - A major one-way street in downtown Davenport will switch to two-way traffic on Thursday as part of a long-planned infrastructure improvement .
3rd Street from Marquette Street to River Drive will convert from one-way to two-way traffic beginning at 5 a.m. on Thursday.
City leaders say the change has been a long time coming and is part of a $14.1 million investment in city roads .
“All the traveling public will see a lot of nice, new, bright signage. Everything indicating where the lanes are at, with new striping on the ground. Once you get down there it’ll be very apparent that this section is a two-way section, and we’ll have advance warning, changeable message boards, and PD presence to help with that transition,” said Brian Schadt, city engineer for the C
