A recent restaurant inspection highlighted the risk of ceramic bits making their way into food items at a Columbia Applebee's location. Multiple broken plates were found on top of a food prep cooler.
Routine restaurant inspections happen two to three times per year based on priority and location of Columbia restaurants, Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services previously has said. Follow-up inspections happen if a critical violation is found. Restaurants usually can correct noncritical violations by the next routine inspection. Reports are from Oct. 21 through Monday, Oct. 27, unless otherwise noted.
