EGANVILLE – Bonnechere Valley council has thrown down the gauntlet and declared the township, and the village of Eganville, the Halloween capital of Renfrew County.
“We should recognize Bonnechere Valley as the Halloween capital of the County of Renfrew,” Councillor Meredith Caplan Jamieson said. “I don’t think anyone does it like they do it here.”
Mayor Jennifer Murphy was quick to agree.
“It has gotten exponentially bigger,” she said.
Halloween is also an event which is enjoyed by everyone, Jamieson said.
“There is something about Halloween that is really inclusive,” she said.
The resolution, which was passed unanimously by council, noted Halloween is a “vibrant celebration of creativity, imagination and community spirit” where the township residents put in extraordinary enthusiasm
