SUMTER, S.C. (WIS) - Authorities are investigating reports of candy being tampered with at a Halloween event in Sumter.
The Sumter Police Department said a family reported pieces of the tampered candy after an event on Thursday night. No further details were immediately available.

Sumter police did say they’re encouraging parents and guardians to be vigilant as children go trick-or-treating, including checking wrappers and contents of candy.
