ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division said an Upstate man is the latest suspect charged after shootings at S.C. State University.

SLED said 19-year-old Jamarion Jabari Jones of Abbeville County was arrested Thursday and charged with carrying a weapon on school property.

Jones was identified from campus security video, investigators said.

According to the arrest warrant, Jones admitted he was the person in the surveillance footage open carrying an assault-style firearm.

SLED was asked to help S.C. State University Police after two shootings on the campus on Oct. 4.

One claimed the life of 19-year-old Jaliyah Butler. The second shooting left a man injured.
