INDIANAPOLIS — UPDATE: The Marion County Sheriff's Office says Darrell Austin has been apprehended without incident and is being charged with escape as preliminary evidence indicates he intentionally impersonated his brother during the release process.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an administrative error that led to an inmate being mistakenly released .

The sheriff's department said the incident involved Darrell Austin, who was released in error, and his twin brother Daron Austin.

Both men were in custody at the same time for unrelated charges.

According to the sheriff’s office, a bond was posted for Daron, but jail staff mistakenly processed Darrell for release.
