PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - A nearly century-old tradition in Central Illinois is almost here.
The Itoo Society is gearing up to host its 98th annual supper.
Formed in 1914, the Lebanese community holds the supper every year to raise money to maintain its club and send money back to the village of Itoo in the Northern mountains of Lebanon.
Widely admired favorites like cabbage rolls, baked kibbeh, salad and pita bread are prepared ahead of time.
Kristen Reynolds, chairwoman of the society, said while 98 years seems like a long time, focusing on making everyone feel like family has made time fly.
