EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - The Michigan State University Board of Trustees held its regular meeting Friday morning, with roughly 40 people addressing board members during public comment, pushing the meeting over the four-hour mark.
Most speakers were students who said the university has failed to represent them.
Multiple students spoke directly to board members, demanding they preserve diversity, safety and freedom of speech on campus.
Marija Nestorovic, a Hispanic MSU student, said she does not feel protected at the university.
“My brothers, my sisters and others shouldn’t feel threatened on this campus when we are here to get our education,” Nestorovic said.
