SPRINGFIELD — State police caught former governor’s aide LaMar Cook on surveillance allegedly traveling back and forth to the hotel at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, his former employer, to retrieve packages investigators determined to contain cocaine.
According to court records, an investigation into the packages originated in Kentucky, when postal workers and police there examined “suspicious packages” bound for Massachusetts.
Once the packages were seized, they were sent to the hotel on the Amherst campus addressed to a nonexistent “guest” named “Morgan Gordon,” troopers said in court paperwork filed this week. The brand of the cocaine was marked ”Gold," narratives by Massachusetts State Police troopers say.
