Ilya Samsonov will be back between the pipes in the KHL.
The former NHL goaltender agreed to a two-year deal with HC Sochi, the team announced.
Samsonov was left unsigned after spending last season with the Vegas Golden Knights, going 16-9-4 with a 2.82 goals-against average and a .891 save percentage.
The 28-year-old spent seven seasons in the NHL with the Washington Capitals, Toronto Maple Leafs and Golden Knights. In 200 career appearances, the Russian netminder posted a 2.77 goals-against average, .902 save percentage and a 118-48-25 record.
The Capitals selected Samsonov with the 22nd overall pick in the 2015 NHL Draft.
