A "surge" in police presence will take place at the start of next week in response to Saturday's stabbing attack near Huntingdon , according to government sources. Extra police officers will be deployed across the rail network.
They are likely to be focused on major terminals such as London, Birmingham, York, Leeds, and Manchester, as well as at Huntingdon.
The presence is expected to be most apparent in London and Huntingdon, and will be seen until Tuesday at the earliest (November 4). On Sunday, there were multiple police officers in position at Huntingdon railway station and London Kings Cross.
