In a tragic road accident early Monday morning, at least 17 people were killed and several others injured when a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) bus collided with a dumper truck near Khanpur Gate in the Chevella police station limits of Rangareddy district.

According to police officials, the bus was traveling from Tandur to Hyderabad with over 70 passengers on board, many of whom were college students returning to the city after spending the weekend at home.

The accident occurred when the dumper, reportedly speeding, lost control and rammed into the bus. The impact was so severe that the bus was completely mangled, and the ballast loaded on the dumper spilled onto the passengers, trapping several people inside.
