MAURY COUNTY, Tenn. (WSMV) - Firefighters rescued a driver from a car dangling over a steep embankment in Maury County over the weekend.
The crash happened at about 7 p.m. Sunday along Theta Pike, according to the Maury County Fire Department. Responding firefighters found a red Mustang “resting precariously on a steep embankment, barely held by a small tree.”

The emergency responders had to remove both of the car’s front doors to rescue the driver inside. They then used “a rope system” to pull the vehicle back up onto the roadway.
The driver was hospitalized and is expected to survive.
