CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - The Charleston County School District has confirmed a high school teacher has been placed on leave following several charges.

Sade Delesia Nacheyle Nelson faces charges of third-degree assault and battery, domestic violence of a high aggravated nature, unlawfully placing a child at risk of or causing harm or willfully abandoning a child, according to the incident report.

Summerville Police responded to a Walmart on Oct. 18 after witnesses reportedly saw a woman assaulting a man in a car and trying to hit him with it. Police say she allegedly punched the father of her child and his girlfriend during a custody exchange.
