HONOLULU (Island News) -- The Honolulu Police Department (HPD) will have impaired driver checkpoints at unannounced times and locations throughout the holidays, reminding Oahu drivers to always drive sober.
These checkpoints will happen throughout the holiday season from Nov. 1 through Dec. 31, 2025. HPD conducts DUI checks as part of an ongoing effort to reduce traffic deaths and injuries.
HPD wants to remind the public not to drink and drive and that the legal drinking age is 21.
Promoting alcohol to someone who is not 21 is a misdemeanor and carries a punishment of up to one year in prison.
