MECOSTA COUNTY, MI – The driver in a rollover crash escaped his vehicle before it became engulfed in flames early Tuesday, Nov. 4.
The driver, a 36-year-old Traverse City man, was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Mecosta County sheriff’s deputies responded around 3 a.m. to an iPhone crash-detection report of a crash at 220 th Avenue and Elder Road in Mecosta Township.
The vehicle was engulfed in flames when deputies reached the scene. The driver was able to free himself from the wreckage before rescuers arrived.
The man was driving south on 220 th Avenue when he lost control of the vehicle on a curve. It veered off the road, struck a guardrail, overturned and caught fire. He was alone in the vehicle.
