The Salvation Army is counting the public to help make sure every child has a present under the tree this Christmas.

It put up it's Angel Tree, Monday, at Huntsville's Parkway Place Mall.

Families of more than 1,800 children are counting on the Salvation Army this holiday season, plus dozens of senior citizens and people with special needs.

"Our Angel Tree requests got full very quickly this year, so we decided God was asking us to step up and do a little bit more," said Maj. Jayne May.

People have until December 13th to take an angel off the tree, go shopping for the items listed on it, and return it to the mall's Salvation Army kiosk. The Salvation Army will then deliver those gift to children in time for Christmas.
