A reported security threat at Reagan National Airport has led to a temporary ground stop, officials confirmed.

"All flight operations are being held at Reagan National while passengers on a United Airlines flight are being offloaded and bused to the terminal," officials said early on Tuesday afternoon. "We will provide more information as it becomes available."

Flights bound for the airport were also holding in the air or diverting due to the reported security concern.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy later confirmed that a United flight from Houston to DC received the threat.

The flight landed safely at the Arlington airport, passengers were evacuated, and police conducted a full search of the aircraft.

The FAA later resumed all operations.
