GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - Following up on their efforts to recover 7,113 pounds of perishable food items from the NFL Draft, Rooted In Inc. is back at it to help the hungry.
Founder/President Selena Darrow said that her organization has partnered with Delaware North, the foodservice provider for Lambeau Field, to recover unused food from the stadium.
"Food waste is a major issue, and there is plenty of food in our community that is going to landfills, which impacts the environment," Darrow said. "We can use it to feed our community right now."
Darrow added that it's a privilege to support the community by providing access to nutritious food.
