A high wind watch was issued by the National Weather Service on Tuesday at 12:40 p.m. valid from Wednesday 4 p.m. until Thursday 10 a.m. for Herkimer, Fulton, Montgomery, Saratoga, Schoharie, Schenectady, Albany, Rensselaer, Greene, Columbia, Ulster, Dutchess and Washington counties.
The weather service states, "West winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 65 mph possible."
"Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles," describes the weather service. "Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates."
