BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- Nine years ago, CBS 42 took a look at what crime fighting in the future might look like, speaking with then-Birmingham Police Chief A.C. Roper.
CBS 42 recently had a chance to sit down with the former police chief to see just how accurate his predictions were. The station also spoke with Birmingham Police Chief Michael Pickett to see what crime fighting tools in the future might look like.
In his 2016 interview, Roper talked about the use of technology and community policing remaining constant. He also discussed his hope that by 2025, the Birmingham Police Department Headquarters would be housed in a new building.
“I hit every target except the new building,” Roper said.
