BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Twenty-two Kern County schools are set to compete for football championships in the CIF Central Section, officials announced.
The California Interscholastic Federation Central Section announced playoff seeds and brackets on Saturday.
Frontier High School is the lone Bakersfield school in Division I-AA and is the 7-seed. The Titans will travel to Clovis to take on Clovis High School on Friday.
Bakersfield Christian is the top seed in Division I-A and has a bye in the semifinals. Liberty High School is the 3-seed and will host San Joaquin Memorial on Friday.
Bakersfield High School is the 2-seed in Division II and has a bye into the quarterfinals. Garces Memorial hosts Tehachapi in a first-round matchup on Friday.
