MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A 30-year-old Fitchburg man was arrested after police say he was allegedly driving a stolen vehicle and led a police chase into Rock County, officials said Tuesday.
Around 11 p.m. on Monday night, a license-plate reader stationed on Monona Drive alerted police to a stolen vehicle driving in Monona.
According to officials, a nearby officer witnessed the driver of the stolen vehicle allegedly driving over 60mph near Monona Drive and Nichols Road.
The officer tried to catch up to the stolen car as the driver made his way towards US Highway 12 but was unsuccessful. Another officer then joined the chase.
Eventually, the driver pulled over on US Highway 51 and came to a full stop. Officers ordered the driver out at gunpoint, and the driver allegedly did not comply. He
