On Wednesday at 1:14 a.m. a wind advisory was released by the National Weather Service valid from 4 p.m. until Thursday 1 p.m. for Essex County.

"West winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected," says the weather service. "The highest gusts will be between Midnight and 6 a.m. Thursday, particularly between Ticonderoga and Plattsburgh in New York and between Ludlow and Strafford in Vermont."

"Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result," comments the weather service. "Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects."
