David Phyall, 50, was found dead in his home in Bishopstoke, Hampshire, after he was evicted from his home and was the last remaining resident in a block of 77 flats

A man took his own life, severing his own head with a chain saw, after he was evicted from his home of eight years.

David Phyall's 1960s property was scheduled for demolition but the 50-year-old from a quiet Hampshire village was adamant he wouldn't be forced out. The vulnerable man , who had a history of mental health issues and had previously attempted to take his own life, died by suicide in his Bishopstoke home in 2008.

On the day of his death, David was said to be "irrationally opposed" to what he saw as the "injustice" of being removed from his repossessed property.
