Scots firefighters have told of the terrifying moment they were attacked with fireworks. Chaos erupted last year when Debbie McCafferty, Watch Commander, and her crewmates were called to an unofficial bonfire in Carluke.
Debbie, who works for both Glasgow's Clydesmill Community Fire Station and Carluke Community Fire Station, and her team chatted with the crowd who had gathered in the Lanarkshire town before starting to put out the flames.
It was then a firework was launched in their direction. Debbie, a seasoned firefighter who balances work with family life and responding to emergencies via a pager, recalled the horrifying moment she was struck with the missile .
