NEWPORT, Tenn. (WVLT) -Students and staff at Cocke County High School are safe after the school received a bomb threat Wednesday morning, according to Cocke County Sheriff CJ Ball.
The sheriff said his office and homeland security agents had responded to the school out of an abundance of caution after a threatening note was found.
As of 9:30 a.m., Ball said students and staff had moved outside the building while law enforcement clears any possible threat.
