ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) -A man has been arrested and charged for the shooting and killing of a 39 year-old man.

Neils N. Woolfolk, 56, was charged with first-degree murder, one count of armed criminal action and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm.

District 6 officers responded to a shooting at the intersection of Prange and Genevieve at 3:16 p.m. Monday afternoon. One man, Javon Carter, 39, was pronounced dead.

According to court documents, a witness saw Carter say a racial slur to Woolfolk.

Woolfolk left in his car and returned a few minutes later with a rifle, firing multiple shots at Carter.

The witness saw Carter fall to the ground with a gunshot wound. Police found five shell casings at the scene consistent with being fired from a rifle.
