A strengthening storm system and an influx of cold air is expected to plunge much of the North and eastern U.S. into “December-like” temperatures this weekend and into next week, according to forecasters at AccuWeather.

“This will be the first taste of wintry weather for millions, with a dramatic temperature drop and blustery winds. The surge of chilly air could briefly reach parts of the Southeast.
