In our condo of 61 units, 12 owners have converted their gas fireplaces to electric. The gas units are almost 45 years old. We shut the gas to the units off during summer to conserve wasted gas and unnecessary heat from the pilots, which triggered the upgrades over the past three years.

The owners who converted their units have demanded they stop paying for the gas cost. We do not have gas meters for each unit, and our hot water is also heated with gas.

Are the strata permitted to estimate what the consumption might be to reallocate the gas cost at our annual meeting in November?
