The Jackson Police Department has issued a warrant for a 26-year-old suspect wanted in connection to the death of a sergeant with the Hinds County Sheriff's Office.
Jackson Police Public Information Officer Tommie Brown identified the suspect as Ladarien Tyrese Jones, 26, via a Tuesday evening, Nov. 4, news release.
Brown said Jones is wanted for murder and auto theft in connection to the death of Sgt. James Dotson Jr., 32. Dotson worked with the Hinds County Sheriff's Office.
According to Brown, JPD and the sheriff's office recovered on Tuesday afternoon Dotson's gray 2020 Dodge Challenger in the parking lot of a north Jackson apartment complex.
Police said the vehicle was taken from Dotson's home by Jones, who is "responsible" for Dotson's death.
