A man has been arrested on suspicion of making threats with a bladed article in Bristol. Avon and Somerset Police arrested the man on Fishponds Road near Eastville Park on Tuesday evening (November 4).

The force said an 18-year-old man remains in police custody today (November 5) as enquiries continue.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: "Officers arrested a man on Fishponds Road near Eastville Park, Bristol, just before 7.20pm on Tuesday, November 4, on suspicion of making threats with a bladed article.

"An 18-year-old man remains in police custody today, Wednesday, November 5, as enquiries continue."

Police previously said they were called out in response to a report of a "man with a knife".
