Pre-cooked pasta meals sold at major stores, like Trader Joe's and Walmart, are linked to a nationwide listeria outbreak that has killed six people and hospitalized 25 in the United States, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
That number is expected to grow as the CDC is currently investigating seven more cases .
In Louisiana , there have been two listeria cases that resulted in hospitalizations — one linked to a pasta dish and one not, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.
The food recalls were traced to precooked pasta products produced by Nate's Fine Foods in Roseville, California . The company recalled nearly 245,000 pounds of pasta in September.
