MARTIN, Tenn. (KFVS) - A Union City, Tennessee man is now facing additional charges after further investigation into a September assault incident.

According to the Martin Police Department, officers were called to the area of N. Lindell Street on September 15 for a report of a domestic dispute.

Police said they found two female victims at the scene with 46-year-old Robert Michael Higgins. They both claimed that Higgins had become violent with them, assaulting them and taking their personal property.

When this incident happened, Higgins was initially arrested for domestic assault.

However, after a full investigation was completed, officers learned Higgins had allegedly raped one of the victims inside a semi-truck parked at the scene and held both victims against their will.
