CARBONDALE, Ill. (KFVS) - A juvenile is facing a weapons charge after an incident over the weekend.

According to the Carbondale Police Department, officers were called to the 800 block of E. Grand Avenue on November 1 at around 2:50 a.m. for a report of an unlawful use of a weapon. Officers learned the suspect had threatened the victim with a gun during a fight.

Police were able to find the suspect’s vehicle and found the firearm during a traffic stop. They arrested the suspect, identified as a 17-year-old female from Carbondale.

The teen was released to her family pending a court hearing for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.

This investigation is ongoing.
