Police in Edinburgh have been deployed as residents watched officers prepare to combat any potential Bonfire Night disorder.
A resident in Bingham sent Edinburgh Live images of at least three police vans parked on Bingham Broadway - a short distance away from Niddrie where incidents have been seen in recent years. Officers were seen preparing at around 5.30pm on November 5.
This comes after police in Edinburgh were given the power to stop and search people and vehicles 'where appropriate'. The powers came in from 3pm on Wednesday, November 5.
Police will be implementing Section 60 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994, which also allows for the removal of any items believed to be used to 'conceal their identity'. The changes will be in place in Niddrie, Muirhouse, P
