Police are poised for any potential firework disorder in Edinburgh this evening with officers seen keeping a careful watch over displays in the capital.
Cops in the city have been given additional powers to stop and search people and vehicles as they aim to tackle the widespread Bonfire Night disorder seen in previous years.
On Wednesday night, as the festivities got into full swing, uniformed officers were seen watching on from street corners as fireworks were set off. While no early trouble had been reported in the area, police vans have been seen situated on streets throughout the city.
