COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A sheriff’s office in Tennessee is warning the public of a false alert of a plane crashing into a Sam’s Club on Wednesday morning.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office reports that a PulsePoint notification was sent out alerting of a plane crash, which was false.

“This was an accidental false entry, there is NO PLANE CRASH at Sam’s,” PCSO said.

According to Putnam County 911 , PulsePoint is a smartphone app that allows users to view and receive alerts on emergency calls.
