The son of murdered Gary Belfield has spoken out about feeling cheated of justice after one of his dad's young killers died in custody. Gary, a father-of-six, was fatally stabbed during an attack at his North-east home, during which his son Luke Williams was also seriously injured.

Teenagers Jordan Tams, Leandro Lopes and Kriesha Stroud were all sentenced to life imprisonment in January after being found guilty of murder and attempted murder at Newcastle Crown Court. However, it was revealed last week that 18-year-old Tams had passed away while being held at Deerbolt Young Offenders Institution, near Barnard Castle, County Durham.
