A "brazen" burglar targeted a high street coffee shop in full view of members of the public. James Hunter broke into Caffé Nero on Stockton High Street at approximately 8.35pm on Friday, October 31.

The 39-year-old broke a window by kicking it in front of members of the public while his 36-year-old accomplice stood and watched. He then climbed into the premises for a matter of minutes before fleeing the scene. It is unknown if anything has been stolen.

Shortly afterwards, officers from Stockton’s neighbourhood policing team arrived at the scene with the alarm of the building ringing. While at the premises, the offenders were observed in the area by CCTV operators from Stockton Council who made officers aware of Hunters location in Green Dragon Yard.
