LA PLATA COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) — On Wednesday, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) announced that it will be leading an investigation into a fatal officer-involved shooting that took place north of Durango on Tuesday afternoon.

The incident began at approximately 2:40 p.m., when the Durango Emergency Communications Center received multiple 911 calls that reported a male and female involved in a physical domestic disturbance inside a moving vehicle that was leaving the City of Durango by traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 550.
